Over its lifetime, a lorry tyre carries many times the load of a car tyre — and it costs accordingly. Which tyre offers the best value for money is not determined by the purchase price, but by mileage, fuel consumption and whether the carcass can be retreaded at the end of its life. We’ll work with you to determine the tyre solution that best suits your operational needs.

Each axle has its own role to play
A set of identical tyres fitted to all wheels is the exception for lorries and buses. The three axle positions place such different demands on the tyres that manufacturers produce specific tread patterns for each.
- Steering axle: the focus is on even wear and reliable tracking, as well as a smooth ride.
- Drive axle: Traction even in wet conditions and on unpaved surfaces, hence coarser tread blocks and softer compounds.
- Trailer axle: low rolling resistance and high mileage, as this axle is used for towing, not for propulsion.
- All-season tyres for vehicles used in winter and on building sites.
The second life of the tyre
A good lorry tyre carcass does not reach the end of its life after its first service life. If the carcass and tread are a good match, the tyre begins its second service life — using significantly less material. Reifen Müller operates its own retreading plant; up to 350 retreaded tyres leave the premises every day, having been tested using state-of-the-art carcass testing technology.
For you, this means that we factor tyre retreading into the quote right from the start. If you look after your tyre casings, you’ll drive more economically — by managing tyre pressure, knowing when to replace them, and having them repaired before the damage turns into a total write-off.
Service wherever the lorry is parked
A flat tyre rarely happens near a garage. Our service vans are on the road round the clock, seven days a week, serving the commercial vehicle sector, and carry out fitting, balancing and repairs on site. We also offer fleet inspections, a collection and delivery service, and tyre and carcass management.
